The course provides an introduction to bibliometric data sources and indicators. The course covers the fundamentals that professional users of bibliometrics need to be familiar with.

Clara Calero-Medina, PhD: Clara is senior researcher and bibliometric consultant at CWTS. She has a background in economics, and science and technologies studies. Clara is a member of the Information & Openness focal area at CWTS.
Vincent Traag, PhD: Vincent is senior researcher at CWTS. He has a background in sociology and applied mathematics. Vincent is a member of the Engagement & Inclusion focal area at CWTS. In addition to his scientific research, Vincent is also a bibliometric consultant at CWTS.
Ludo Waltman, Professor of Quantitative Science Studies: Ludo is one of the coordinators of the Information & Openness focal area at CWTS. He is also coordinator of the CWTS Leiden Ranking and co-developer of the VOSviewer software for bibliometric visualization.

Karen Gutzman is Head, Research Assessment and Communications at Galter Health Sciences Library at Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University. Karen works to support individuals and groups in their understanding, assessment, visualization, and reporting of impactful outcomes of research and clinical care efforts. She also develops and implements programs on digital scholarship and dissemination of research.
