Philippe Mongeon

Philippe Mongeon is a postdoctoral researcher at the Centre for Science and Technology Studies (CWTS) at Leiden University. He is a member of the Science and Evaluation Studies research group. His research interests revolve around three main axes. The first focuses on the relationship between evaluation practices and knowledge production. More broadly, it aims at providing a better understanding of how knowledge production and dissemination processes are shaped both by the internal dynamics of the scientific field, and by environmental factors such as the social, political, and technological contexts. The second axis focuses on collaboration an division of labor and reward in science. For instance, Philippe’s research investigates the relationship between the contribution of individual team members and authorship. Finally, Philippe’s research investigates the data sharing and reuse behavior of researchers. One of the main goal of this research is to better understand to what extent researchers share data in online repositories, and to what extent and by whom these data are reused.
