Tung Tung Chan, MSc

Tung Tung Chan is a Research Intelligence Advisor at Erasmus University Rotterdam. She is responsible for enabling and opening up the strategic dialogue between faculty management teams and the university board on the basis of responsible research output analysis. She was a researcher at the Centre for Science and Technology Studies (CWTS) of Leiden University and served as project leader for the Leiden Madtrics blog team between 2018 and 2019. Tung Tung remains affiliated to the CWTS as a visiting researcher through the following research areas: Research Intelligence, Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) and Open Science.

Tung Tung first joined CWTS as an intern in the summer of 2017, for her master thesis on China Scholarship Council (CSC)-funded PhDs in the Netherlands. Her research has informed ScienceGuide, and sparked discussions on the internationalization of doctoral education in the Netherlands via NOSop3. She graduated summa cum laude from the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Degree in Research and Innovation in Higher Education (MARIHE) in 2018. Tung Tung is passionate about teaching as she shared in this TEDx video, and has a track record in consulting and teaching in various educational institutions (Taiwan, South Korea, Malaysia, and the Netherlands). She obtained her bachelor’s degree in communication and media at Erasmus University Rotterdam.
