CWTS launches new course on responsible metrics

CWTS is proud to announce the launch of the new course Responsible Metrics for Research Evaluation. The course provides a thorough understanding of the key topics discussed in the debate on responsible use of metrics in research management and research evaluation. The first edition of the course will take place in Leiden on April 1–3, 2019. Registration for the course is now open. The main lecturers are Sarah de Rijcke, Ludo Waltman, and Ismael Rafols (co-authors of the Leiden Manifesto) and Stephen Curry (chair of the DORA steering committee). The course draws extensively on the practical experience of the lecturers and on state-of-the-art insights from the scholarly literature. By launching this new course, CWTS aims to make a further contribution to improving the way metrics are used in research evaluation.
