We are delighted to announce that Sarah de Rijcke, scientific director of CWTS, has been appointed as the new dean of the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences of Leiden University, starting on January 1, 2024.
Sarah will step down as scientific director of CWTS at the end of 2023. She will remain affiliated with our center on a part-time basis and will continue her research on the interactions between science governance, evaluation, and knowledge creation. Sarah: "It has been such a pleasure to co-lead the center over the past years! Who wouldn't be, with such a dedicated and friendly bunch? I will miss being around my CWTS colleagues fulltime. Though I very much look forward to the new challenge ahead, I am also glad this is not a goodbye."
CWTS congratulates Sarah on this wonderful appointment. Ludo Waltman, deputy director of CWTS: "This is a much-deserved appointment for Sarah. The Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences will surely flourish under Sarah's capable and inspiring leadership.
